Miramonte winery has been around for a while. However, they are just finishing up a multi-million dollar renovation and they have established themselves as the new competition on the block. They sit on top of one of the most beautiful hills in wine-country and enjoy stunning 180-degree views and awesome sunsets. If you haven't been to Miramonte for a while then it is definitely worth a visit. Oh yeah, and they do weddings!!!
This is my 11-11-11 wedding. I think every wedding venue across the country was booked on this particular Friday. It's one of those dates that gets snatched up two years in advance. I think it's VERY ironic that 7-7-7, 8-8-8, 9-9-9, 10-10-10 and 11-11-11 all fell on weekends. I just checked for 12-12-12 of next year and, unfortunately, it falls on a Wednesday. Of course, these dates only come around once a century.
Cool date or not, I think Jenna and Brian's wedding was perfect.
This was the bride's idea... she brought the sparklers and wanted to capture the word 'Love.' I've seen it before but this is my first attempt at it. Next time I'd make sure to put the bride and groom in the middle. I have other ideas so if you are one of my clients and you'd like to experiment with light then let me know.
Julie and I enjoyed a perfect evening at Leonesse's Winemaker's Dinner on Friday. Food was prepared by Mike Cragg of Temecula Catering. What's cool is that Mike used to work at the Ritz Carlton in Laguna Niguel... the same hotel that I worked at when I was putting myself through college.
This is only the second wedding we have photographed in Palm Springs. Which is unfortunate since we live only 45 minutes from the area.
The Riviera Resort was recently remodeled and holy crap did they do a good job. It is a photographer's dream venue with lots of cool corners throughout the property. I wish I had an extrat 2 hours to get all the shots I wanted.
Jayme was amazingly photogenic and had total confidence in me (and in herself). I can't tell you how important this is if you want to get the best photos possible.
This shot was taken at Ponte Winery on 11-11-11. Dramatic skies like this one are pretty typical October through March and REALLY help to create better photos.
